Description
The IDATA KL1508AIM LCD Monitor Switch (Dual Rail) is a control unit that provides secure access to 8 computers from a single monitor, keyboard and mouse console. The device consists of integrated LCD monitor, keyboard and touchpad, all in a sliding case for 1U rack mounting.
The LCD and keyboard/touchpad modules have independent sliding. To make maximum use of data center space, the keyboard/touchpad module can be hidden by simple sliding when not in use. The slim LCD monitor can be flipped over for convenient monitoring of computer activity.
The K1508Ai has IP connectivity so that local and remote operators can monitor and access computers on the installation. Because the device uses the TCP/IP communication protocol, it can be accessed from anywhere via LAN, WAN, or the Internet, regardless of where the computer from which it connects is located.
Compact, high-density RJ-45 connectors and Cat5e/6 cables enable compact and efficient cabling configuration, while the use of KVM adapter cables to connect to computers allows any combination of PCs, Macs, Sun computers and serial devices to coexist in the same installation.
For added convenience, there are ports on the rear panel to connect external monitors, keyboard, and mouse to manage the switch from a local console. There is also a USB port on the keyboard module for an external mouse to use a mouse instead of a touchpad.
Advanced features include Panel Array Mode, which displays the video output of 8 computers simultaneously, and a message board to allow connected users to easily and instantly communicate with each other, regardless of their location. The KL1508Ai is an ideal solution for server room management.
